Save In-progress Entry

Note: This feature is available only for V3 stacks and may require activation. If the feature is not enabled in your account, contact Contentstack Support.

When working on lengthy content types, completing an entry in a single session can often be challenging. To address this, Contentstack allows you to save your work mid-process—even if some mandatory fields are left blank. These are referred to as “In-progress” entries.

This feature enables you to save incomplete entries without losing your progress. It’s particularly useful when you need to temporarily navigate away from the parent entry to create reference entries on the go and return later to complete the original entry.

Tip: Entries with blank mandatory fields cannot be published and will trigger an error. Saving in-progress entries allows you to preserve incomplete work without publishing.

To save an in-progress entry, click Save while editing an entry in the entry editor.

Note: In-progress entries cannot be published, added to releases, scheduled for publishing, included in bulk publishing, or used as references for publishing.
