Highlighting the top digital transformation trends of 2024, showcasing how leading brands like Air France KLM, BISSELL, Mattel, Golfbreaks, and MongoDB leveraged personalization, speed, and AI to drive exceptional results.

As we wrap up 2024, it’s a perfect time to reflect on our customers' transformative journeys to demand more from their digital experiences. This year has been marked by bold moves and powerful results, and we’re proud to say that the world’s best digital experiences run on Contentstack. What can you learn from their successes? Below, we’ve identified key trends that stood out this year — trends that any organization aiming to get more value from their digital experiences can look to for inspiration.

Centralizing content to scale personalization: Air France KLM

One of the clearest patterns among our most successful customers this year was the breaking down of silos to create unified content ecosystems. With personalization climbing ever-higher on every brand’s priority list, customers who work towards a single source of truth for content, a clear content taxonomy, and a way of working that supports content creation at scale, are the ones who will get to market the fastest with true personalization - like Air France KLM

By moving from multiple fragmented CMS platforms to Contentstack’s headless CMS, the airline group established a single source of truth for their substantial content ecosystem. AirFrance KLM can now deliver contextualized, personalized content across customer journeys — from loyalty program Flying Blue to B2B solution portals and cargo services.

The result?

  • A 50% reduction in development costs

  • 15% savings in translation efforts

  • 20% fewer service line calls

Numbers that add up to proof that investing in a unified platform pays off.

Speed as a competitive advantage: BISSELL and Mattel

Digital is changing — exponentially and faster than ever. Speed to market isn’t just an advantage; it’s a necessity. Some of our most successful customers prioritized faster launches followed by iterative improvements, leading to impressive results.

BISSELL took a mobile-first approach, adopting Contentstack’s headless CMS and Automate to overhaul its mobile app experience. With an ambitious goal of seamlessly integrating customer support and e-commerce, they launched a redesigned app in just three weeks. Across a global content landscape of 50 content types, nine languages and 25 markets, BISSELL was able to localize faster than ever -- with processes that once took hours reduced to mere seconds. The impact? Over 60,000 downloads in the first month and 100,000 monthly active users today.

Toy manufacturer Mattel similarly leaned into speed to revolutionize its digital experiences. By leveraging reusable content, they cut launch timelines from months to a mere four weeks, improving user journeys for platforms like the American Girl doll configurator and the UNO/NFL collector's card catalog.

This new-found agility led to massive increases in conversion rates of:

  • 4.9x on web

  • 9.5x on mobile

Embracing AI for efficiency and engagement: Golfbreaks and MongoDB

2024 was the year AI for the enterprise went from concept to reality. Many brands successfully embraced AI to transform their workflows while improving customer experience. For Golfbreaks, AI became a game-changer for faster content creation and categorization. Through Contentstack’s AI Accelerator program, they implemented automated generative AI to craft localized, on-brand content at scale. This AI automation saved their content editors seven hours a week, slashing time-to-market by 78%.

We also saw customers achieving success with AI outside of the gen-AI-led, customer-facing experience. MongoDB leveraged AI to optimize page performance during the process of content migration. By automating the toggling of third-party scripts during page publishing, they improved page speed, enhanced SEO rankings and reduced manual effort. The results? Faster publishing, with 150 pages launched per automated batch compared to 30 pages manually

Looking ahead

It’s clear that a focus on personalization, speed, AI and automation drove the most successful digital projects of 2024. The most successful brands embraced transformative change, prioritized time-to-market, and leaned into innovation to support their teams to deliver truly differentiated digital experiences. What can we learn from them in 2025? Don’t be afraid to get bold.
