Introducing Global Notifications in Contentstack

Enhanced platform-wide notifications
At Contentstack, we’re committed to enhancing your user experience and making your content workflows more efficient. We’re thrilled to announce our Global Notifications feature, which aims to keep you informed and engaged no matter where you are within the Contentstack ecosystem.
Previously, discussion notifications were confined to the CMS, but not anymore. Our revamped notifications feature brings vital alerts and updates front and center, accessible and visible across all areas of the platform. In addition to providing clarity, this release also plays a crucial role in CMS maintenance and governance, ensuring that you stay informed about essential updates and compliance-related activities that are vital for maintaining the integrity and security of your content management processes. This refresh isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about ensuring that you have direct and immediate access to everything you need to know, all in one place.
Empowering your workflow
Imagine having important updates, alerts, and notices about key events at your fingertips right when you need them. This new functionality is designed to empower you with timely information, facilitate better decision-making, and improve overall collaboration within your team. Whether you’re managing content, collaborating with colleagues, or monitoring project progress, our notifications are here to streamline your experience. Let’s take a closer look at some of the enhancements.
Access notifications
You can access notifications by clicking the bell icon in the top right corner of the screen. When new notifications are available, a red dot appears on the bell icon, prompting you to check the updates. A red dot on the bell icon indicates unread notifications, while individual notifications are marked with a purple dot until they are read.

View and interact with notifications
Notifications provide detailed insights into various account activities, such as mentions in discussions, which can be accessed by clicking directly on the notification. Some notifications, like app installation requests or collaboration invitations, include actionable buttons that let you respond immediately.
You can take control of your notifications with these simple actions:
- Mark as read: Use the ellipsis (three dots) next to each notification to mark individual notifications as read.
- Delete: Use the ellipsis (three dots) next to each notification to delete individual notifications.
- Mark all read: Quickly clear all unread notifications by selecting this option from the three dots menu.
- Delete all: Delete all notifications at once for better organization by selecting this option from the three dots menu.
Group and sort notifications
To help you manage notifications effectively, our new notifications feature offers sorting and grouping options. You can organize notifications by:
- Date: Sort notifications in chronological order, making it easy to find the latest updates.
- Product: Group notifications based on the relevant product (e.g., Contentstack App, Automate, Marketplace).
- Type: Categorize notifications into different types:
- Alerts: Important updates or critical changes to your account.
- Mentions: Notifications when you are mentioned in a comment or discussion.
- Requests: Collaboration invitations, app installation requests, and access requests.
- Comments: Comments and feedback from collaborators.

Intuitive design
With this enhanced design, the platform-wide notifications panel is more visually appealing and intuitive, allowing you to grasp the information at hand quickly. As we continue to evolve Global Notifications, additional alerts and notices about essential platform events will appear in the panel as well, driving productivity and engagement across the board.
