Form
The Form panel provides seamless access to the entry editor alongside a real-time website preview, allowing content managers to edit and view changes instantly. It features breadcrumb navigation for easy movement through complex content structures, enabling quick jumps between entries and their references without losing context. Additionally, reference entries can be edited directly within the Form panel, eliminating disruptions and maintaining focus throughout the editing process.
To access the Form for a web page, log in to your Contentstack account, navigate to your stack, and perform the following steps:
- Click the Visual Experience icon in the left panel. By default you would see the Timeline preview. Click Builder from the pill at the bottom to switch to Visual Builder.
- In the right sidebar, click the "Form" icon to open the entry editor.
- Any edits done within the Form, will reflect in real-time in the Visual Builder canvas.
Alternatively, selecting any field in the Visual Builder will automatically redirect you to the corresponding field within the Form. Use the “Open in editor” button next to the page title to open the full entry editor in a new tab for editing.
Key Features of the Form Panel
- Breadcrumb Navigation: Quickly move between parent entries and referenced entries using the breadcrumb trail. This helps you navigate complex content structures without leaving the page.
- Inline Reference Editing: Open and edit referenced entries directly within the Form panel. No tab switching, no context lost—just efficient, uninterrupted content updates.
- Real-Time Preview Sync: All edits made in the Form instantly reflect in the Visual Builder canvas, giving you a true what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) experience.
